This is what I want someone to do or be a part of. It may sound like reaching for the stars, but if this fails at trying, why even bother with this thread. If it's done with the demigod the way it is now or demigod 2 is not the topic issue. That something should be done is! My idea from another thread:
Dear Maulkin and whoever has an interest in a future of Demigod,
So many before you have tried, cried, begged for future support since the game is out till most recently. I'm not saying we should stop asking whoever might be in charge right now, but we must keep asking so they see different and new people show a lot of interest in the years. So write that letter and send it to whomever it may concern.
However, what really could help demigod is a business proposal to different video game companies like Blizzard, Microsoft, EA Games and many other smaller ones that are out there. Send it to everyone. This game is with no doubt unanimously one of the best games of it's genre, if not the best (when the bugs and connectivity issues are put aside). In several weeks this game will gain thousands of gamers with a publicity campaign, a free to play model, and minor bug fixes and better online support. In several months this game would grow to a real esport game with millions of players around the world. In between half a year and a year this game will become and ESL title and stand right next to StarCraft II. With a great support team probably even faster than that.
I mean look how crappy LoL looks and feels in comparison to Demigod? Don't give me wrong LoL has it's strengths and is a fun game to play, also on a high lvl. But what really matters in this world is the support and publicity of a game, more than it's quality. That's why crappy Browser games are played by millions. So if demigod would just get that (a hard working team) everything would almost work by itself because of it's high-end quality.
It might just be too late for that though, depending on how good Dota II is. However, Demigod could be the perfect counterweight to it with its unique graphics, arenas, epic atmosphere, demigod mechanisms, and highly strategic platform and game speed.
This would take a lot of effort and research though. Questions would be: How to contact the giants and small video game companies? Also the legal ways, that whoever is owning demigod right now might have complications within? How to write a business proposal? What to do if a little interest is shown etc.
But if anyone is a specialist in business affairs, has a lot of time in it's hands, or just loves the game too much should just do that. The best option would be if a couple of people try this effort together: creators, fans, and current owners.
