I'm still figuring tactics out in this game, but so far the most useless spell I've run across seems to be "Hurricane" (Air school/Tactical). All it does is t-port a unit to a random square on the map. So, for example, you can get your forces all lined up for battle, then cast hurricane and have a bad guy t-port to behind your lines.
Has anyone found a good way of using this spell?
(Also, it's kind of annoying that the first Air Elemental has Hurricane as its only special ability. Titan's Breath is so much more useful, as (a) it does some damage; and (b ) you know where the target is going to end up)
