Once you will customize XP, there's no OS that can even come close in terms of performance!
Comparing XP and Win 7 performance-wise.... hehe, like the tortoise and the hare. 
Ok, so you can't customise everything in Win 7 as yet.... but it was never butt ugly to begin with. Not like that bastard child of Fisher Price, XP.
