They can't just turn into a pure flow of electrons - magic does not happen. They also do not question the durability of it, how long it will run without failing.

You don't need extensive power grids anymore if power production can be decentralized. And - unlike other fuel cells - it doesn't require hydrogen, which is just one small leak away from explosive gas.
