Game of the Year? Gold?

Hi, I just registered to ask about the different versions of the game as all the online retailers I usually buy from give absolutely no information at all. (Either that or I fail at finding it)

Anyways, I'm planning on buying this game and I wanted to know what was in the different versions, the two that I'm looking at are the Game of the Year one and the Gold one which is due next year.

My guess is that the Game of the Year edition has the game plus the Entrenchment expansion while the Gold edition has the game, Entrenchment and the new Diplomacy expansion? Is this correct? If not can anyone explain to me what is in each version so that I can make my choice as to which one to buy.

PS. on a side note, the registration feature on this (stardock?) site is messed up, kept getting internal errors when creating an account and had to come to this forum to request password, then request activation once logging in told me I hadn't activatedNot sure if it happens all the time or just to me, thought I'd let you know.

That's a good question.  I get a little frustrated with GoGamer.com's descriptions, too.

I'm not sure what the GOTY Edition offers other than a more updated (more patched up) version of the game, if that.  I'm pretty sure that it doesn't include Entrenchment.  I think they just wanted to put the game back up on store shelves while also pointing out that it won some GOTY awards.  It doesn't really matter because when you get the game you'll want to download and install Impulse (ImpulseDriven.com) anyway to update it to the most recent version (v1.181).

This is a great game, btw, and it feels very slick.

If you buy this game, check out the prices on impulse first. you have to have impulse to get and updates/patches to the game anyway, and it may be cheaper, depending on where you were planning to buy it from. also makes registration a breeze. does it automatically!
