He has a point. this patch was suppose to make the game alot better which it did not. sure they implemented a concede, they got rid of the idol glitch, and nerefed an item to where it wont be used as of the other 20 items.

we where told this patch would make dg alot better game and it failed. it did not fix crap not the lobby timeouts not the unhandled exceptions. did nothen for in game lag nor in game crashes.

they nerf items when they need to tweak classes. they add a lame ingame chat window.

I agree.. people whine, the game turns to shit. I said this in a post of mine like a month ago that the Dev's should completely ignore the community when it comes to balancing and adding content... now the game is pathetic.

It's all an ego thing. People think the community is a bunch of whiners... when they disagree with what the community thinks. When they are in the majority, they think it is simply common sense, and can't understand why anyone would object.

It is imperative that a company listen to feedback, and use that feedback to determine how to modify the game. A lot of people think that 'don't listen to the community' is somehow a 'null' opinion. There is no difference in:

Player A: "I think Plate Visor is OP!"

Player B: "You are wrong, Plate Visor is perfectly balanced!"

and

Player A: "I think Plate Visor is OP!"

Player B: "Dev's shouldn't care about the whiners, don't change anything."

You are not more neutral just because you advocate the status quo.

I've seen a lot in my time on the internet, but never in all my years have I seen so many people bitch, moan and complain that a game actually receives attention from the Developers.

Balance and stability improvements will continue for years. There is no silver bullet - it's an on going effort. The game is two months old, and the amount of attention it has received from it's creators rivals a game three or four times it's age, at least. If you can't appreciate that, than post your concerns in a constructive way - don't just write the equivelent of "ZOMG GPG is t3h crappn3ss lolz, da gam3 still brok3n!1!!!1 Y? If you w3r3 pro lik3 m3 this shud b3 obvious nubz, lolololololz". This achieves nothing.

HoL was nerfed a bit too much for it to be viable. But considering most all DGs could use HoL + Wand of Speed to make up all their mana and most of their health (thus allowing them to stack health or damage more), and most every build got it, and it was bought to the exclusion of a lot of other gear, it's a lot better being useless instead of necessary.

Yes, I know, you are going to say "only noobs use it, blah blah blah." The thing is... why? It's an item that gave anybody who gets even a second of breathing room 300 HP and mana per second. It's a crystal away from the base (or the few map crystals). You couldn't work around it without plague, Spit, snipe, or activating your Wand of Speed right before theirs. It made most mana items obsolete because you could just recharge while OOM.

Simply put, the item was, even if you don't think it was good (and I disagree with saying it was terrible), the lynchpin of a ton of forum builds for DGs, and it isn't fun when every mana intensive DG has to get it because it solves their mana issues better than anything else in the price range.

LOL. I know the stats were broken - I even mentioned that in my post. Nonetheless, it took a lot of winning to get up that high on ladder rankings. Your defense is that a lot of people that played a lot complained about the priests/angels. Well, if their records are something like 150-150, then it's pretty obvious they are experiencing a glass ceiling effect in gaming. Just because people have a lot of games under them, does not mean they are good, quality players. There is a reason why some people with a lot of games have records like the one previously stated - they just don't have a learning curve; just a learning line.

That being said, yes, the priest/angels nerf was definitely not a priority issue. Are you telling me that you would quit playing this game if they did not nerf the priests/angels? I certainly hope not. However, many people would probably quit due to the pathing bugs, Fire TB auto-attack bug, and/or foul grasp bug. Why? Because it hinders the gameplay in a more serious manner.

Doesnt matter. The point is they can make this change immediately instead of waiting days/weeks to fix some problem which will involve debugging and testing. It probably took them all of 1 minute to edit the values.

If the fix was as easy as you said, then sure, why not make the fix. But was it really that necessary? No. You're telling me you wouldn't have rather waited a little bit longer and have the devs work on fixing the more serious issues? Let's be real.

The patch DID address some of my issues. I'm not complaining about the patch as a whole. I'm ecstatic that a patch occurred. However, I am definitely not happy with how easily the devs are swayed by whining of minor issues. If the devs just fix everything that only takes a small amount of effort, like popping in the small amount of code, then this game will go downhill. HoL was OP on a select DGs and a nerf was necessary, but they over-did it due to the excessive whining. That tells me that the devs are going to tend to the every needs of the whiners, regardless of the validity and necessity of the issue(s) at-hand.

Say what you want, but having the devs fix minor "quick fixes" because of whining from mediocre players will be more detrimental to the game than helpful.

EDIT: The fixes that you wanted are going to be a long time coming? The funny thing is, the issues that you want fixed should have been fixed before release.

Look i understand if you treing to balance classes or item taking 3 to 4 weeks to test it but most of the fixes they did in 1.1 where not balance issues.

1.1 got hyped to be the fix it patch for the game .all it did was balance an item which yea it did need it and fix a few isuues(issues that could have been fixed in 1 small patch after seeing it an issue

First, I can't say I've seen a lot of multiplayer games that didn't get a good bit of balance changes. Heck, even halo 2 on xbox got a huge balance change when they made the meelee attack actually hurt.

Second, I like the balance changes they did. The changes to priests and angels are really nice, and so is the Heart of Life. Although 12k might be a bit much, I think I'm gonna agree with g0chu here and say it should be like 8 or 9 thousand gold. Leave it as an artifact.

Look at his record... He doesn't play oak or any of the classes that people used HoL with. That's not what he's complaining about. Everyone thinks since people put the HoL nerf in their rants that it's all about that. The reason people say that is to cop out of a real conversation about the patch and the issues. "He has the letters HoL in that paragraph! FLAME HIM NOW!" Give me a break. This Patch was far from great admit it. You will not get a special item for kissing the dev's ass.

Fact is HoL needed a nerf everyone who is anyone can agree to that. 12k? That's more of a April fools joke to me... but it's not April. 8-9k? Even 10k? Sure, that sounds like a great place to start on a nerf.

Priest and Angels should cost a bit more money if you ask me. They come in to the game too early since now people only want to upgrade the citadel to win. I agree that you should put some money in the citadel, but it shouldn't be happening till mid game at least. It's making this game a lot like DOTA where you just follow minions around till you kill all the towers and then kill the base. I don't know about you guys, but I would like a unique game to play. DOTA is boring and revolves stricktly around minion farming and ganking. This game 'had' more strategy than that before this patch.

Minions are not too balanced is what we are getting at. Then they change it so people would want to upgrade them earlier in the game to win. The gold it costs to upgrade to priests is nothing to any newbie who wants to save up and hide behind a tower. There is no skill involved there.

Ok Captain Defensive,

First of all, the responsiveness of GPG is, in no way, in question. I've stated this before, but I am over-joyed that the game devs are adhering to feedback from the gaming community. On the other hand, just fixing things that are undoubtedly a minor issue which could be ignored while still keeping the game afloat, is detrimental. The reason being: issues that should have been remedied pre-launch need to be postponed even more.

Secondly, regarding the HoL nerf, I DID admit it needed a nerf; however, the majority can protest that the nerf was overkill. Who, in their right mind, is going to buy the HoL now? It's virtually non-existent now. Before the nerf, how many DGs were OP because of it? Oak? If you used it quickly with the Orb of Defiance or a certain skill like Mist with Erebus? It needed a nerf, but not an execution.

Lastly, I play this game excessively. 5 minutes? Your pitiful attempt to degrade my post and my experience is laughable. I am the type of player that uses all of the DGs. I didn't just use Oak + HoL in Pantheon, Skirmish, or Custom Games. Depending on the opposition's setup of DGs, I use a particular DG accordingly. In fact, I tried to revolve my various specs with different DG EXCLUDING the HoL. Why? Because I knew a nerf was inevitable and was already trying to figure out ways around it.

It's always fun trying to post against the majority. I'm ending my responses with this last reply. I tried to show a different angle on this particular subject, but of course, any other view but the majority one is wrong and deserves flaming. LOL.

After reivewing your stats page.. I noticed you like to roll with that UB/Vampire combo. Yeah the one that seems to have become very popular after this patch kinda like the UB became popular after the patch. I just started to play UB last night since it seems to be the new all mighty class, and let me tell you it sure is. All I play against now is UB/Vamp... Reallllllly fun variety. Seems like the patch definatly worked to your advantage.

I believe it's due to the new minimal # for slowing effects now. Beast relies a lot on his speed and if you can't slow him as much. Just what I think.

I did notice looking at your record that about half your games you played you were paired up with UB's... meaning in a 3 v 3 all three of you were UB's and on a few 2 v 2's you were paired up with UB's. Why is UB such a played class all the sudden? He was good to begin with from what I understand.

I guess it's been a while since I payed much attention to the stats but wasn't he always right up there at the top, close to Regulus?

Either way, the UB's always been relatively easy to use and popular as a result. Based on the changes, I can't see any reason why he'd be better now than he was before.

As was said, if anything, the HOL nerf was a kick in the groin for him (albeit, one that he'll easily get over).
