Funny, I joined an Australian game and got told, "cant people read" and was promptly kicked. Ping around 300ms, no warnings that it was AU only. There are rude people everywhere, just as their are nice people everywhere.
Please excuse their ignorance.
Dude, we don't have anything against you. We just don't like lag...
I don't either, I wouldn't join overseas games if I lagged them. The point I and others are trying to make is that a ping of 300ms won't lag your game. I don't have a magical solution whereby you can figure out if a player in your lobby will lag things up or not. The status quo means that the only means by which a host can determine whether a player is suitable for the game or not is their ping, which discounts people playing the game on old hardware, and people playing the game on a connection which has low bandwidth. The issue is the correlation between having 250-300 ping and having either of the two problems I just mentioned is tenuous at best, but as I said earlier, I really don't hold it against you for kicking people with 300ms.
Ban lists have been bandied around quite a bit in the past few days, hopefully once the game is suffering from less conneciton problems we will be able to sort out who can actually play with who using such a thing. What's certain is that there ARE people connecting with higher pings that lag things up, and those of us who connect with higher pings but don't lag things up REALLY don't want to get put in that basket as we frequently are now.
Thats very sexist woppin, you assume all the people who didn't kick you were male, tsk tsk. I would like to thank all the gentle-people who didn't kick me from U.S. games.
They may have been kittens/foxes/hedgehogs as well.
