Custom Races: What have you made?

The short answer is - plenty.

The long comes in a zip or two downloaded from the Library.

I usually went with the terrans, but I rename them "United Nations of Earth" imagining that the world United against space threaths.

ps: And my ship names become: UNS Patiot, UNS Ambassador etc.... (UNS means United Nations Ship)

I made a separate AI civilization called the `Femists`. These happen to be females that rule males  with an iron fist. Men are little more than slaves.

Considering my custom nation is a Patriarchal Society set in the 18th century British empire style we don`t get on with the Femists very well, war looms, but it makes for a good game!

Question, the manual does not appear to explain how to delete custom nations you don`t want. how do I do this?

Choose any civ when starting a game. When you are at the screen where you can customize that civ, click the 'Load' button at the bottom of the screen. A list of your custom civs will appear. Click ONCE on the civ you don't want any more, and then click the 'Delete' button at the bottom of the list of custom civs.

History: 1900 years ago on the Geckodon homeworld of Geckonia, several countries had just finished a major civil war that nearly destroyed Geckonia and so in order to prevent that from happening again, all of the suriving nations had formed into one nation known as the Geckodon Alliance. Shortly after this, a unkown ship crashed on Geckonia. This lead the Geckodons to discover new technologies including hyper drive. During their first years as a space empire, the Geckodons had gone through many hardships.

Biology: The average Geckodorian (male Geckodon) is about 7 ft tall and has a muscular body and have a snout like that of a crocodile. The average Geckodain (female Geckodon) is about 5 ft tall and has a very slim body also Geckodains have a much smaller snouts than Geckodorians and Geckodains have a fin like appendage on the back of their heads, Geckodorians don't. Another difference is that Geckodorians have a killing claw on each foot, Geckodains don't have a killing claw. During mating season a Geckodorian will try to get a Geckodain in love with him by making his scales change color into any color in order to impress a Geckodain, if the female isn't impressed she will make a hissing sound and move on to the next Geckodorian until she is impressed, also they can lay up to 20 eggs how ever only 10 will surive also Geckodains have a pouch in their stomachs were eggs are kept until their fertilized and ready to be laid. Once two Geckodons meet and mate, they must mary each other and stay married for ten years. Geckodons can have a life span of 130 years and also Geckodons also age the same way as humans.

Society: In Geckodon society, Geckodorians are allowed to do almost anything they want, they can go where ever they please, they can tell their wives what to do, are allowed to participate in combat, can go to school, can own property and are allowed to have jobs. Geckodains have no say in anything, they can't give orders, they can't get jobs,can't go to school and can not go outside their households unless they wear a special bracelet around their ankles, although there are exceptions with empresses. Everyday, a Geckodorian would go to his job, the young Geckodorians would go to school, while the mother and her daughters stay home. Geckodon society is split into three classes. The first is the Working Class which consist mostly of merchants, shop keepers, industrial workers, medical workers, civil defense workers and farmers. The second is the Military Class, which consist of military personal. The final is the Goverment Class which consist of the Chosen Council and the Emperor.

Culture: Geckodon culture is a combination of the Japanese, Greek and Eygyptian cultures. Items, such as clothing, blankets, curtains, paper, are  made out of a material similar to papyrus. Instead of letters, the Geckodons use hieroglyphics. When it comes to clothing, Geckodorians wear two shoulder pads with spikes on them, also they'd wear chest pads in the shape of a skull and a loin cloth. Geckodains wear small dress than go down to their ankles. Geckodons enjoy the art of fighting. Most of the entertainment through out the Geckodon Alliance involves combat.

Military: The Geckodon Alliance has a military known as the Jusai. Soldiers are trained to be strong and sucessful. If a Jusai soldier does not do what he is told to do or fails, he is then whipped, shocked or severly beaten. Jusai starship captains, officers, admirals, pilots and generals are trained to be loyal to the Geckodon Alliance. Geckodains are not allowed to join the Jusai.

Goverment:  The Geckodon Alliance is a monarchy where a male member of the Geckodon Royal Family rules the entire Geckodon Alliance. When his mate lays eggs, one male is chosen to be his heir and the other 9 are eaten thus making sucession easy. When the heir of current emperor turns 13, he is taken away and brought to the Chosen, a council of eight Geckodons who live to protect members of the Royal Family, who will take care of the child. Once the young Geckodon turn 15, he is put into stasis until the current emperor dies. Once released, he imeadietly takes place as ruler and the cycle goes on.

Religion: The Geckodons worship a deity known as the Great God of War who according to the Geckodon Religion, had lived with several other deities and slaughtered them. Little else is known.

I think i`ve taken screenies with Printscreen, but I cannot find where they go. Any advice?

1. Open an image-editing program like MicroSoft Paint and hit the Ctrl and V keys at the same time. That will post your screen shot onto the program.

2. go to an image hosting site like Imageshack or Photobucket, and select the image you want to host.

3. When you have selected your image, you should get a list of URLs that you can copy and paste to the 'Insert Image' window here.

I don't use Spore anymore plus I never uploaded any of my creations cause honestly I never wanted to do anything with EA.

Hey guys, quick question: I've seen a few AARs where people have been giving themselves negatives in attributes in custom races and seem to have received extra spendable points. I've tried ingame to do this but there seems to be no optin for this.

Is this a case of someone modding the game to their liking, or am I reading the descriptions in the AARs wrong?

One or the other.

There's a mod or two in the library that add in negatives for most things, but I wasn't aware they were popular enough that people had been using them during their AARs.
