hum you mean that you got a single crash in how much time ? is it random? how often does it happen ?

random rare crashes are quite hard to debug but what I quoted is often a problem with gfx cards/drivers

however I once had such a problem (but in my case it was recurrent) and never solved it until I change the computer

maybe the main problem was that the whole computer was undersized for what I liked to play (gigantic size map)

however it was a very long time ago (for reference this was my old post about it : https://forums.stardock.com/113583)

(for reference the primary buffer is what the screen displays, while this happens the gfx cards calculates the next image and stores it in the back buffer, then switches the back & primary buffer around, and so on ... )

This may not be your issue, but I'd recommend turning AA down or off regardless-you're running integrated, for God's sake. Granted, it's not the integrated your grandfather ran, but it's still integrated.

I apologize-this is annoying me lately.

Hopefully someone can help you figure out what those unprintable character messages are, though. I'd suspect they're the real culprit-or at least part of it.

AA is kind of a multiplier, though. Granted, that's perhaps not the best way to put it, but it's (I've found) the best rule to live by when setting it.

And the issue with it being integrated is that the VRAM it uses is "borrowed" (aka stolen) from your system RAM, which slows things down in more ways than one. (Especially so with a game like GC2, where RAM is really the limiting factor-but I'm not sure that's the issue here, either.)

as I said, I believe that the problem lies in the gfx part, and integrated gfx sharing the memory isn't any good moreso when you just use a LOT of memory with AntiAliasing

and remember it is NOT because you meet the system requirements that you'll be able to turn AA on in any game out there

heck I meet the system requirements for a lot of games with my 8800GTS512, yet I cannot always activate AA (while keeping the game playable) depending on the screen resolution I run the game at and the overall options I used (texture resolution and such ...) and that's with 512Mb of dedicated graphic memory. Sorry if it looks like I'm bragging because I'm not at all ...

the point is that sole soul is indeed right, you might want to try out (at least try) without AA (because it the easiest to test out)

then if it doesn't work you might want to switch drivers around (the latest ain't always the best for your system) while remembering to clean drivers between changes (I once had a problem because of left overs more info here)

also I just saw that you use multisample "5" which should translate in AA 5x

even if it works, this is NOT a good idea, AA was designed with multiples in mind (for nvidia cards AA2x, AA4x, AA8x so you should either choose 2, 4 or 8)
