Many Taskbar Icons

Many Taskbar Icons

I really like the interface. There's just one thing which is bothering me though. Upon loading there are 22 instances of Objectdock loading. All of them show up in my taskbar. If I start closing them different icons/interface parts of the running Objectdock start to dissapear. Anybody else run into this problem?

sounds like maybe you have both a shortcut to it in the startup folder and have it checked to run at start?

Thanks for the reply Bichur. That isn't the problem. It's not in either my startup folder nor do I have the check box checked to run at start. It seems like each icon in the dock has it's own instance running in the taskbar. If I add a new icon to the dock I get another unnamed instance in my taskbar. Shouldn't these all be "hidden" from the windows taskbar?

By the way, I'm running on XP with dual monitors. I haven't done anything other than run objectdock_freeware.exe, and then execute the program.

XP32 or XP64?

don't know if the dual is having an effect, but don't think so

you should have only one at the most showing in the taskbar (system tray?) - I've never had any showing myself - neither taskbar nor systray - been using ODock freeloader for yrs on XP32

2 options to try:

1) clear the cache

http://corkyo.wincustomize.com/articles.aspx?SID=5463&aid=82461&UID=1133455

this will clear all personalized setting and put ODock back to default

2) wipe out ODock and try again

https://www.stardock.com/files/odnt_zapper.exe

download and run this and it will erase all traces of ObjectDock (don't worry it's not automatic... a window pops up and you have to select that which you want gone) -  might even want to run a cleaner such a CCleaner - then reboot before reinstalling - might even try a new download incase something caused something to bork on the one you had causing the multiples

If you use The Zapper, you might want to move any downloaded backgrounds, icons, etc to someplace if you want to keep them

Thanks again for all your help Bichur. I think I found out the culprit. I have been running MultiMon TaskBar 2.1 and apparently it and ObjectDock don't like to play well together. Once I unloaded MultiMon the taskbar worked perfectly! Pfew

I believe there were some posts last year and/or 2 yrs that mentioned MM and SD apps conflict but I can't remember what it was or which app

Glad you got it working right..
