Hello All,
I'd first like to appologize to some people. I was playing today and had some teammates and I acted like a bit of a douche towardes them at one point. It was uncalled for an I'm sorry.
What I'd like to point out though is what drove me to insanity. There were three of us playing on a team and one player decided he was king and would tell everyone what to do. He proceded to ping multiple planets multiple times and kept telling our third team mate to build towards him instead of me. The third guy and I had already decided we would rush one of the players together but that was canceled because the player continued to scream bloody murder he was going to get attacked and that we had to colonize closer to him. This irritated me and my one team mate yelled a bit at him but got his cool pretty quick. GJ.
Later on though, he started critizising me for my strategy. I had 2 capital ships and a small amount of frigates, which he claimed was "noob tactics" and that we were going to lose because I had screwed up so bad. He then tried to tell me which ships to build and what order and so on and so forth. Everytime I lost a ship or made a small mistake he would "LOL" on the chat. I lost my cool and yelled at him a bit then rubbed it in when my strategy didn't fail. Totally immature, my bad.
My tactic was to go deep into the enemy's territory and set up a base to start attacking, so the enemy sent a fleet straight for my homeworld. Luckily the third player had a fleet farther back and helped to defeat that attack while my two capital ships began to rip apart his planets and colonize all around him.
(this next part is not bragging, only saying what the results were)
By the end I was # 1 in the overal rankings of all three criteria (empire, economy and military). I was #1 in Credit, Metal and Crystal.
My point here is not that I was so good, only that my strategy that was claimed to be "noob" strat resulted in me being top place in the game and us winning (they did their part thats for sure but I was fighting 1 person for the start, 2 for the middle and 3 at the end).
My point is, there are many strategies out there that will result in good play. Just because you build frigates and your opponent/teammate build capital ships does not mean they suck. My strategy was to kill his planets as fast as possible with minimal losses. Capital ships fullfill that role well.
Also, bossing people around and telling them what to do doesn't solve anything but to devide a team. I was saved early on, and it was because there was good strategy by my third teammate and continued co-ordinated strategies with the other two players. It wasn't one because we all caved in and did just like second guy wanted.
So please people, let's all show some respect and realise there isn't a win-strat, but many different strategies that result in success!
