Craziest gameplays you've seen?

Any crazy gameplays you've seen, that actually worked?  People massing scouts the entire game--People bulding no military and only tradng, ect.

Back in beta3, I decided that I wanted to be a "Trader" for one game.   I told everyone to ally me and you'd get alot of gold later on from trading.

I expanded quickly and built up alot of trade posts and started getting a nice income for myself.  This let me buy some more military units which I sent to other systems to start a good trade outpost there.
It ended up me having $300k in credits, and about 100k in metal/crystal.  My trade-ships were practially forming a long blue line from each star system when zoomed out (icons were touching it other).  I had all my planets upgraded, all civ and defense slots filled.
I had a military in the 2 main galaxies, and a planet in each of them (desert) dedicated for ship building.  I whispered everyone "$50k to anyone who attacks Red"  and got some nice attackers heading that way.

I figured out early game people are willing to pay money for info; as everyone had visioned me.  I'd see two players at war, and whisper one of them "Hey man, $X says I tell you where his ships are, how many, and where his weaknesses are".
I ended up losing when all the players realized I was leaking info out and unallied me all at once.  Great game.

Anyone have any crazy strategies?

Wow.

Just that gave me such a great idea.

Being a trader could actualy be a class, or like a cool thing.

If only they added looting or some sort of system.

Meh

Good story anyways

UHHH... I hope thats a joke. Thats built into the game already, its called bounty. You put it on a guy, and other players get the bounty when they do damage to the person with the bounty on their heads.

I don't think being a trader would work anymore; very hard to find a large game that makes it a useful strategy, and online now just feels too competitive. Back in the beta people played for fun, now they play for wins. =[
