Windowblinds annoying defect...will it be fixed?

I have customized my desktop (and applications) fonts and colors, at least tried. My changes are successful until I reboot or I apply any changes in Windowblinds. At that point, Windowblinds wipes out my customized fonts and colors, so I have to make my changes again and again because Windowblinds wipes them out. How about fixing this!

WB is designed to apply a skin and overwrite settings . . why would you expect it not to overwrite your settings? Or am I misunderstanding?

You can make changes within WB (and icon packager, etc) and then save those as yoru own to apply. Could that work for you?

I don't know if you're misunderstanding or not. I would absolutely expect it to leave whatever settings I can't change in windowblinds alone! I can't change the desktop font colors and background colors in Windowblinds, so why would it override settings that it doesn't allow me to customize within it? That makes no sense. If Windowblinds had the ability to set desktop fonts colors and backgrounds, then it is certainly ok with me if it overrides what the system would be set at. But it doesn't, at least not that I can determine. If it allows me to do it, it's not very user friendly because it's impossible to find where it can be done. I haven't been able to find it yet. And if I have to buy skin studio to accomplish this, then it's a rip off because windowblinds should be robust enough to allow me to choose system settings that it doesn't override and manage them for me without having to be forced to buy an extra piece of software I shouldn't need and largely wouldn't use.

WindowBlinds does have the ability to change the icon text colors and backgrounds otherwise it wouldn't be reverting back to the skin's default after you restarted your computer.

The purpose of WindowBlinds is not to tweak your skins (though a significant number of features to do just that have been added in WB 6). WindowBlinds' purpose is rather to allow you to customize the look of Windows Explorer, your applications and the common controls -- that alone is quite a lot to bundle into a single application

When you edit the skin itself, you can change any of the elements of the skin, which really gives you the most control.

The problem you're experiencing is fixable. It sounds like the skin you are using has some system font settings in it that are overriding changes you've made using Display Properties when you reboot.

If you open the skin in SkinStudio5 (not 6), look in the 'Miscellaneous/Fonts for Classic Widgets' section to see if settings for the system fonts are included there. If so, change them to the fonts you wish to use & save the skin. Another option would be to delete those font settings and save the skin. This is not a bug, but a feature that may skin authors utilize to keep fonts consistent.

The system font colors are also set by the skin but they are in a different section - Classic Colors. You can change the colors there (although you can't 'delete' them) - they will be applied every time you boot.
