So is galaxy forge 1.03 compatible?

I havent tried using it since the patch, so I am curious if there are any problems.

I cant load any maps i made before or after the patch. they just dont show up in the new game list and i know how to make them, i made dozens before the patch that worked just fine.

From what I understand there is some sort of galaxy version value that you have to change from 0 to 1 before those files will work post patch, but I have no idea how to do that.

seems you cant load up the dev made maps into galaxyforge anymore either, i wanted to try that to see what needed to be changed.

by all accounts you need to change

versionNumber 0

to

versionNumber 1

havn't tried it though i did try the other way with a dev map (i.e. 1 to 0) but that didn't wanna play.

To make a map you made in galaxyforge load in-game, open the map file with notepad and in the first or second line it would say "versionNumber" and the number 0 next to it. You must change this 0 to a 1. Save to Galaxy folder as usual and you will be able to run.

To open up dev maps in galaxyforge, do the opposite. (Open file with notepad edit the versionNumber from 1 to a 0 and you are set)

Of cource this is an inconvenience but it's not too bad :P

Cheers :CONGRAT:

Has there been any news on how to modify the resources on each planet? I've seen people ask in the past but their hasn't been any answers on how to specify what types of resources are on a particular planet.

Yeah, I got the whole version thing down.

but all of the maps, except for one, won't work...

And the only one I made that work was a stupid "plain" map, with just two start points and a star.

Every other map I have minidumps on me when i try to play it and its seriously pissing me off.

I think they'll either have to give us back the option in the 1.04 patch (it was in 1.02 of course), or we'll have to use the modding tools instead of Galaxy Forge to do it =/

from a post in my thread asking the same thing, I was told (but not by anyone from IronClad/Stardock) that it would be a planet-by-planet thing that I'd have to fool with...not really interested much in that so just sticking to 1.02 and hoping for the option again in 1.04

and yep, you must have .NET 2.0 or Forge wont work (but you knew that already)
