1.8a: Wrong images in shipyard

Steps to reproduce:

- Play a game and design some ships
- Play another game, design new a ship but give it the same name of some ship from the previous game
- Select the newly created ship in the shipyard

Obversation:

The new ship will look like the you just overwrote, however the stats are from the new one.

This is likely happening because unless you change the setting in the options the game saves all ships for future use. You will notice that at the time of saving your new ship it will have come up with a box suggesting you choose a new name that has not been previously used. If you choose to ignore this warning you may find that the game does not know which of the files to keep, the earlier ship or the latter. At some level it does not work correctly if you overwrite.

If you do not wish to keep designs between games ensure the settings reflect this or empty out the ships folder in "my games/gcII" folder. If its a metaverse game you need to empty the ships folder in the metaverse section of the above.

This attribute has been present in all previous versions to my knowledge. As the poster above notes, the "overwrite" command does not always work correctly.

i am having some ships disappear in the ship yard.

but available in the construction menu and the planet menu.

of course you will ignore the warning! It is the most convinient option. When i create a ship, i will save it with no active components, this will be my template ship for each new game untill i get tired of the design. Once i use a template for my first active ship, i will rename it, but from then on i will reuse the new name over and over for that game and then delete it at the end so it dousn't inconviniently reapear the next game.

The only ships i want reapearing are my template ships... heck it is already enough work obsoleting all the default ships every game!

You *could* just use the 'user' tab...

I forgot about that option!

Now if i can just remember.... old habbits are a powerful force to disrupt remembering a new course of action!!
