This I think is a valid question, the answers would only serve to aide a skinner "hone" his craft... therfore the "Bump"

I'll give you feedback based on your screenshot. I haven't used the WB itself. Also please don't take my comments as rude. I'll try to help as best I can from the screenshot.

First off the start panel is too big. The top and bottom are fine, but the sides are way too wide. Second there is no user icon even though your start panel is large enough to accomadate one. Third, the seperators in the start panel look like the default ones. Perhaps change them or take them out entirely? Fourth, all the fonts are the default ones as well. I believe your skin would benefit from changing the fonts. This last comment is my personal opinion, so you can heed it or not. I personally hate window buttons that stand out. From the screenshot, they look like they're in the highlighted position, but I know that's the way they look in the default state. Maybe make them look like the background in the menu bar (not bright). That's just my personal opinion on the buttons of course.

I don't mean any of this in a negative manner, only to help you see what others might be seeing ok.

Overall, it's a good skin. It's not harsh and it didn't make me scream when I applied it.
I do think however, that it could stand some polishing. Here's where..

1. The Start Menu - Looks like part of the Log off and turn off computer images are cut off on my system.

2. In an open window, the white text on the bright blue glassy buttons is a bit harsh on the eyse. I don't know what you can do to ease that, but it might help.

3. The drop down menus... I'm not a fan of things that have lines like that (for lack of a better term). I like my menus clean and easy to read. The line effect distracts me.

4. Purple background in the shellstyles area.. seems to clash a bit to me.

5. Lastly.. The skin feels... LARGE. I think the buttons are too big. That's just me though. I'm prefer smaller and crisp.

Please keep in mind, there is nothing WRONG with the skin and I for one thank you for sharing it. I'm just giving you my personal preferences which may or may not be shared by others.

Time spent on a skin is not directly proportional to the rating it will receive. Keep that in mind.

What phoon said..also..don't get too distressed, If you do your best, people can't ask for anything more and over time you will improve. Promise ya.   

I don't think that's the first time that user has made rude comments like that. *shakes head*

Will always stings..specially for those who have put in a lot of time and afford to produce skin.

This is a good skin which for me should get more than 2 1/2 stars.

As of how to improve it... most of it have been mentioned above...but the main thing is , mod it if you think you should, try the suggestion and see if you yourself like it... if you dont..revert and try another way...your own way.. that at the end will be uniquely yours .. I hope you understand what I am trying to say here.. I am not really good in English and in skinning tooo ..

I appreciate the vote . . but  my edit errored out.  My edit would have  provided why it was being edited and that it was me that did the edit.  And I didn't bump him to visitor, that's be a bit extreem just for cursing and being a putz.  If that were the case I'd have been a "visitor" long ago. 

I was going to say something about that 'rude' comment but I appear unable to post on skin comments...

I originally only started this thread to find out how to improve my work.I enjoy building and sharing these skins and only want to do the very best I can and input from the community and moderators is the best way I know the get an objective opinion !!

In order to do better sometimes you have to ask what is wanted ?
