msstyle in Windowblinds 5.5 Vista

Hats off to Stardock for an amazing product. I am using Windowblinds 5.5 as of this morning on Vista Business and it rocks. Thank goodness I have control back and don't have to look at MS's hideous black taskbar anymore. Yay!

I had read quite a bit (I thought) about how Windowblinds 5.5 would be able to import msstyles and use them. Now, I cannot find anything about this. Perhaps I was wrong and it is Skinstudio that is required to port them first but that isn't what I remember reading about several time.

Can anybody clear this up? Could just be my foggy memory.

Thanks,
-Kevin

Yes, you need SkinStudio 5.5. It should be out fairly soon.

I'm curious... I have 1 skin I want to convert The skin author is no longer around and I was hoping to convert it for personal use.

I don't design skins/themes so I don't really want to purchase Skinstudio.

Will there be a demo version of it available that I can use to convert a single theme?

Thanks,

You can use the existing version of Skinstudio to import XP msstyles to work with WB on Vista.

Unfortunately I was unable to install the existing SkinStudio on Vista... I am running as an administrator account but I still got errors at the VERY end of install about "error copying file... please make sure you are running setup as an administrator".

Anyway, I tried opening the program anyway. It worked partially. After I imported my skin, I got an error again and had to kill the program.

However, my skin "DID" show up in Windowblinds and I was able to apply it. Strange!

Some elements of the skin do not show up correctly (start button, min/max/close button). Will the new version of SkinStudio handle these areas better or are those problems likely to need fixing regardless of what version I use?

Thanks!!
