centering icons in taskbar

Hi. I've created a .png taskbar - basically a long rectangle with rounded edges on a transparent background - and I've learned how to lock it's size from the developer's guide. No matter how many programs are open and icons appear, the bar always stays the same size. However, when the icons appear on the bar, they start from the left; the left-most icon is always hidden, because it is located on an area of transparency within the .png file. Can I tell Desktop X to center my icons on the taskbar as they appear, rather than have them left-justified? Any help would be greatly appreciated! (I've tried changing the "icons offset" number from 0 to something else; the icons just disappear totally...)
Thanks!

The "Icon Offset" moves the icons on the 'Y' axis (up and down).
Go to the "States" tab > Advanced button ..... changing the 'A' value should move the icons along the 'X' axis.
