Still no release of object bar ...

It will come as no surprise to anyone that I had no response from stardock regarding progress on the release of object bar after a month.

Does anyone here know who to send mail to regarding this ? I feel a bit cheated...

Hello Binster,

ObjectBar 2.0 is currently in development and should be released sometime next month.

For future reference, you might try emailing directly to info@stardock.com or support@stardock.com if you are want to make sure someone from Stardock will get to your message.

I did email support - if you follow the link I copied above you'll see. You'll also see that someone said they'd forward my message to the CEO. Of course, I received no reply from support.

I read your post. What's your complaint? OB 1.65 is available and works. Are you demanding that OB get updates?

Or is your complaint that Stardock didn't respond to your post in a timely manner?

If *I* was approched with yoru attitute I doubt I would respond as well as Darkstar did. And If you think you deserve a communication from the CEO of Stardock I'd like to see a copy of any reply you got from Bill Gates.

Oh dear. I suppose do I have an attitude, but it is born out of frustration with Stardock saying one thing and doing another. I didn't expect an answer from Brad, but then I didn't mail him. I do expect an answer from support, and at this point I really am eating humble pie because they did reply, but only to say that 'the forums are not the official place for support', and that if I have a problem I should mail them about
it.

So to recap, my complaint is that it is taking a long long time for ob2 to come out, or in other words, yes, I am demanding that OB get updates. That's all, but I feel compelled now and then to make that complaint/demand heard, rather than sit saying nothing. I've been an OD subssciber for about 6 or so years now. I report bugs, I beta test, and I pay to do that. In return for that I feel justified in moaning now and then.

Fair enough. Tone counts though.   '

Over teh years Stardock has been consistant about poor to no documentation and a lack of communication. In their favor, the have very open betas asn a super fast development cycle. And they have been better about both docs and communication the past few years. Is there room for improvement, hell yeah! But . . I think you're more likely to get a respons froma a question about an app than a complaint.

You're right it does. I just checked - I've been using OD for 4 years, not 6 - think I may have had WB for a while before that. My gripe about OB2 is it's been in beta for over a year - ok for an OS maybe, but not for a utility like OB. I think it would be good for them to have a bug database to complement the beta program - we find bugs and report them, and in return we see progress (or not as the case maybe) on the fixes.

That would rock. The other part of it is that SD has LOTS of apps (and games). Unless they hire everyone and their mother, they have to pick and choose what gets updated.

WB has a lot more love than OB. Guess where *I* woudl spend my time?
