Error activating product

Hi there im back again with another problem! hopefully someone can help me out but I seem to be having problems activating my product after updating GC2 to the latest version. THis means I can't even launch the game
Not sure if I did anything wrong, probably did, but any help would be greatly appreciated

What problem are you having? Without knowing specifics, I would recommend deleting your sig.bin from your installation directory and trying to activate again either via the activation dialog or Stardock Central.

Are you using an EU purchased copy? If so, make sure to click the right link in the downloads page to get your Serial No.

Thanks for the help guys however Im still unable to activate my product. Its not an internet connection problem as far as im aware. When i try to launch the game I get the stardock product activation window in which i have to supply my email and serial number. I enter both corectly, then when i press 'activate' I get a message saying 'Error activating the product'. And thats all I get. I tried finding the sig.bin file and deleting it as Yarlen suggested but I can't find that file probably cuz im inept. anyways Im gonna keep at it and hopfully i'll be able to solve this little problem!

Yes as Ohalland says you need your REAL serial number not the serial number from the manual.

Not the serial number from the manual on the sticker. They may call it a serial number and then ask for a serial number at activation but they dont mean that one!!!!

You have to use that serial number on the website to get your REAL serial number (also called a serial number just to avoid any confusion ) and you use the NEW, REAL serial number to activate the product. Takes seconds really.

So if the number you are trying to use looks like GC2-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx then thats from the manual and its the WRONG one! There are no dashes in the serial number they mean for you to enter. And i dont mean type it in without the dashes!!!! I mean you get a new one that doesnt have any dashes at all.

Is it a used copy or did you buy it new?  If it's new and you're still having trouble, then please email support@stardock.com.

ok the whole serial number thing has me a bit confused....as I used the number on the back of my manual and it worked when I first installed the game. I own a UK copy, bought it in HMV. activation was no problem teh first time round, so not sure whats happened this time round. Could it be because I have installed it on a new machine? Although I don't know why that would cause a problem as I am using the same account details.
If I uninstall and re install do u think that might help?
