Cheats dont work for me!!!

I'm attempting to use a few cheats while I learn the game however they're not working.
I'm using the ("C:\Program Files\Games\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe" cheat) shortcut.
While in the game I'm attempting to use the CTRL+M cheat to gain more cash with no luck.
Can anyone help? I have read the posts concerning cheats but am unable to figure out why they are not working for me.

Cheats work fine for me, if I can get my big meathooks to quit typing Ctrl-N instead of Ctrl-M... My shortcut target line just says this:

L:\Stardock\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe w cheat nointro

with no double quotes around the exe. Of course, my path doesn't contain any spaces so maybe that's why. You could try using the short DOS path name which you can see by opening a command prompt and typing dir /x.

for the Money cheat to work, don't you need to complete/buy your 1st Colony ship? Least thats the way it works for me....


btw, is there a thread that shows ALL the cmd line options? TIA....

Move the last quotation mark and you should be all set.

p.s and make sure your shortcut is pointing to Galciv2.exe and NOT GC2Launch.exe

I had a problem with it working at first also, found it easier to cut and past then try to type it into the box. Maybe that will help someone with problems or just past this into the the target

err, I don't think it works with G2Launch.exe does it? Shouldn't it be Galciv2.exe ?

Still does not work for me tried putting the quote marks after the word,and it came out invalid,I'm at the end of my rope.

What's with the first colony ship junk?I already figured it out,If it says /GalCiv2/GC2Launch.exe. Change it to /GalCiv2/GalCiv2.exe." cheat.

not sure. It used to be for me to get the $$ cheat to work, I had to buy or complete my 1st colony ship. But in a new 1.1 game last nite, I tried the $$ cheast before the 1st colony ship and it worked.
