FOUND BUG W/ BACKSPACE BUTTON

pressing BACKSPACE at metaverse nickname space causes crash

I found that when you load the game and then go intot ehmetaverse button. In the spot whree you put you nick name if you dont put anyhting there and hit abckspace it causes the game to crash...

I have ALL my drivers updated and nothing else running in background, almost a safe start in XP... nothing else but this game running

i got a ASUS 5PWD2 sysbrd, and INTEL socket 775 3.4 ghz cpu almost bare boned with nic installed... game crashed on this and on my laptop in the SAME location which leads me to believe its GAME RELATED...


ANYONE else caught this yet

yah, i was about to post the same thing. crashes when pressing backspace after going to "metaverse".

Other text boxes are also seriously bollixed. Trying to use or cursor keys in the ship design name box, or in the campaign startup [name] box produces unexpected garbled output. Notably a 'y' with two dots above. Cursor right does advance the cursor all right, but also inserts a garbage character at the same time.

Nor can I use the mouse in text boxes to position the cursor.

Backspace is the only key that works for deleting preset text, but it's a pita because I have to cursor right, producing lots of garbage before I can then backspace-delete it.
