Will you go right back to watching NHL hockey or was the lost season and the BS of bickering millionaires to much for you to be a fan again.
I have to be a fan again, live just outside of Toronto, the centre of the hockey universe. My blood is Maple Leaf blue.

I've forgotten the player's names. Thibeault is a Penguin now. I wish Bill Wirtz (owner of the Blackhawks) would trade himself somewhere.

I am eagerly awaiting the start of the new NHL season now that all the bs is over. The league should be more balanced and stronger for it too.

The Flyers are going to make a run at the Cup this year. We have Forsberg who will be a big help.

I remember when it was the Minnesota North Stars. Quebec and Winnipeg had teams. too. Ah the good old days.

Personally, I'm excited for the year to begin. I just think that it will only be good again in 2-3 years once everything dies down a bit. All the trades that have taken place shook up everything. The game is going to be a LOT different. Having said that, I think my Leafs are going to fail miserably. I might as well keep watching junior hockey. Go Knights go!

I sure will follow it this year! I'm a Montreal fan, but our chances haven't budged a bit. The teams that gained a lot recently are the Penguins, the Flyers and the Blackhawks. The biggest loser: Tampa Bay. Without their star goalie, they don't stand much chance.

I disagree. We have a good goalie in John Grahame. Yes it hurts to lose Khabibulin but thats the way things go. Greed is a great motivator, heh?

We still have the offense, so we'll see what happens.

By the way, nobody gave us a chance before we won the Cup? I don't see why we couldn't again!

I'm excited to see hockey start up again.  With the new rules and salary cap I think the teams are going to be much more balanced and the games will be just that more exciting. 

However, I feel that there will be a drop off in viewership initially.  It could be just a couple months or a couple years.  If the NHL is able to get ESPN or another high profile neetwork I feel that the viewership decline will be just a few months  but if they get a lesser known cable channel (what is it, great outdoors or something) then it will probably take a few years to recover.

Yeah, apparently ABC/ESPN is out of NHL broadcasting. Comcast bought the rights for $200 million for the next 3-6 years and 58 games will be shown on OLN (previously known as the Outdoor Life Network). ESPN could have picked it up for $60 million, but they get better ratings than the NHL from stuff like poker and stuff.

Not in this household! I have two sports nut sons, a former high school/semi pro forward/defenseman for a husband, a male dog and a male cat! I am so out-numbered in the gonads category! And when it comes to hockey? In New England? I shudder to think!
