For my taskbar buttons, I prefer the "Show only one combined button" option to minimize taskbar clutter while still being able to quickly identify which button opens the tabbed window containing my target program. From there, I don't mind switching tabs if necessary.
However, for the ALT-TAB view, I prefer the "Show only active window" option for the same reason: to minimize visual clutter while allowing me to switch directly to the single Groupy window and then change tabs within it.
Allowing separate preferences for each view would enable more tailored control. I’d like to see the tabs of the active window in its preview—or at least icons, captions, or indicators (perhaps the grouped icon used on the taskbar)—to show which programs are grouped with the active window.
I just started the Groupy 2 trial, and this was one of my immediate concerns while customizing my setup. I would love to know if there is any plan for this before going forward with the license.
This feature matters a lot to me, and it feels inconvenient to have to sacrifice visual preferences for functionality. Conceptually, it doesn't sound difficult to implement, but I'm no software engineer. I’d greatly appreciate any consideration toward improving this feature on an already excellent product. Thank you for reading.
