Hi Stardock team,
I’d like to request a feature improvement in Start11 related to how new applications are added to the Start menu.
Current behavior:
When I add a new app (example: Trae), instead of placing it in the next available spot in my already full Start menu section, the program relocates it elsewhere and disrupts the order of tiles I’ve carefully organized.
Desired behavior:
-
Please preserve the existing layout.
-
Place new apps in the next open slot in the current section (bottom-left or nearest available position).
-
Avoid re-ordering or disorganizing the user’s custom arrangement.
Why this matters:
Maintaining the exact layout is important because many of us design our Start menus to be efficient, intuitive, and muscle-memory-driven. Unexpected shuffling of tiles reduces usability and creates extra work to reorganize.
Thanks for considering this request! I believe this small improvement would make Start11 even more user-friendly; here was an example -
Example:
1. Init layout, only one tile left! Let's add that Trae application to that open lower-left tile spot next to SolidWorks

2. Let's add it!

3. Uh-oh .... oops
