ok, i fixed it. I know I am being nitpicky (and annoying probably) but... It is lighter that the original with the default blend option, it squishes the image a little bit and because of that, the reflection looks thinner that the original. I also think the image is also tilted a little bit(???)
All of that distortion is the result of vertically squishing and/or horizontally stretching the image. You'll get different results if you set the image to paint using tiling:

The image you posted in the OP is not particularly well-suited to be tiled, note the tiling seam in the titlebar of my image. You'll probably want to edit the image so that the right edge flows better into the left edge.
Also, on the "Image tab", you may want to set it to "Image Count" of 1 instead of 2 unless you have actually duplicated the inactive image underneath the active image, else the image will shift as you switch between the window's active and inactive state.
