Hi,
Under "Can I upgrade to the new version?" (https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1423507482/Can+I+upgrade+to+the+new+version%3F#Object-Desktop-Version-Updates) it says that upgrades need to be purchased and an example is given. However, directly below it says that "Active Object Desktop clients will receive new releases at no extra charge."
I tried Fences 5 and it asks for my product key but it returns with an error code -212 iirc. So the wording on that page is confusing. I have Object Desktop, it says classic subscription. Expires late 2024.
Does the "...new releases..." refer only to the Object Desktop...suite, so to say, as per the versions of the software contained within it on the date of purchase, the software of the Desktop Object alone as some sort of separate over-arching utility to contain the individual programs or is the need to purchase major upgrades not a part of the "...no extra charge..." at all?
Thanks for any insight. But in the last case, if one is not liable for an upgrade from Fences 4 to 5 as part of the Object Desktop, then it should not show up as an option in the software list and able to be installed, only to be presented with a request to enter a product key. More information on that web page would make it more clear.
