I have been using the Fence V2. It seems like it's slowing down my computer whenever on startup or plugging in external monitors.
Is there a good way that I can upgrade to V4? Will this solve the problem?
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Which Windows your system running(7,8,10 or 11)? And, what is your Windows version number? Use Winver.exe.

I've never run Fences 2. So I can't really tell. But, I am running Fences 4 on my Windows 10 and I don't see any slowdown issue.

I can confirm basj's reply. Neither Fences 3 nor 4 caused any noticable slowdown on my systems W10 and W11 machines. I've had all the versions of Fences, and they caused no perceptable slowdown, either on W7 and onward.
You can check impact on your startup via task manager, but it won't check the effect of adding a monitor after startup as far as I know. You can also disable starting high impact apps, if unnecessary, from there.
