Start 11 used to fix the bug in Windows 11 that turned "Restart" into little more than a glorified log out function. If you tried to shut down Windows from the lock screen, you were warned about lost data and open files. Start 11 closed all files when restarting so you could confidently fully shut down the computer.
With the latest update, Start 11 "Restart" functions in the same manner as Windows 11 stock "Restart" function.
The importance of the loss of this feature makes me want to roll-back the Start 11 software to the previous version.
I always completely shut down my computer via the restart/shutdown sequence, as Windows 11's shutdown feature rarely works completely for me. It seems that there is always a USB device that doesn't wake up completely (I have more than 8 devices plugged in to USB ports, 4 monitors, two keyboards, a pen tablet, trackball and mouse, 2 D/A headphone amps, a printer and a scanner). Starting the system anew ensures that everything will be properly initialized.
