I haven't played in a couple patches, trying it out again as of the 1.4 patch but am having some issues with custom races.

First, I can no longer select foreground/background/portrait images of the minor races, which previously were available by default. I found the images in the steam directory, but they are not .PNG and I don't really want to save-as.png each one of them.

Ok so then I decide to try to make my own images. However, it seems leader foreground and leader portrait are overwriting each other. I can select both and it appears fine, but when I hit save it will only show whichever was selected last. Hit edit and sure enough both portrait and foreground will show whichever one was selected last. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, is this a known bug with 1.4? I can get them to be separate if I use video's for foreground/background, then the portrait applies just fine, but not when using images.

It wouldn't be so bad if the aspect ratios of foreground and portrait were the same but with one being 16x9 and the other 1x1 it's looking pretty ugly.

 

...........All of the foreground/background images are currently in .dds format in the main client install folder. Yet when choosing to select a custom one in-game, it prompts you to choose a .png file in the My Games\GalCiv3\factions folder.

Could be a bug or an oversight...
