hello community,
i have created a complete ship design collection for a custom race, with seperate xml files
FactionShipStyleSetDefs_XXX.xml
ShipBlueprintDefs_XXX.xml
ShipClassDefs_XXX.xml
i also have adapted the blueprints,
so that the usage of the suboptimal "Bestdefense" is replaced with all defenses, and such stuff.
so that i get automatically upgraded ship designs M1-Mxx for each ship when I recover a new technology.
and this is all working okay.
one little problem i cannot fix.
inside the battleviewer the different weapon animations from my ships
are showing all the same identically animation; a red point, instead of the specific laser, kinetic or missile animation, i usually would expect.
i think it has something to do, with the fact that functional components (weapons for example) which are placed automatically on a custom ship design are invisible,
because the game does not know which hardpoint on the hull should be used.
When I edit the shipdesign and the placement of the functional components manually in the game, it works. but not for the automatically placed components.
also the animation seems to be on a very low frequency of normal weapon firing interval. animation speed is okay, but not the intervals.
so i guess this is a bug inside GalCiv3, perhaps it has something to with "PlacementType" inside ShipComponentDefs.xml or the FX*Weapons.xml and so on. but these file are untouched by me, like all of the default xml files.
i also tried already a repair inside steam for the game files.
no success.
because the wrong weapon animations are very unattractive, game fun suffers from that.
i hope you can help me with my problem, and we could find a solution together.
