Beta 6 Patch 2 opt-in: MASSIVE performance drop

In previous betas, even on very large and crowded galaxies my performance has been incredibly smooth. 6.2 has been a great step backward; FPS has dropped when fully zoomed out, time between turns has increased (and there have been some "Wait" hangs that never ended), and the overall experience has been diminished.

System specs:

i7 4930k, 4.1ghz

64GB DDR3

Geforce 770 GTX 4GB

Dunno if the memory leak fixes might have gone hinky, but whatever it is, something's definitely gone wrong.

It was fun while it lasted, but i'm really getting frustrated.

And now I've got a friend (who I seriously hope is mistaken) telling me I was stupid to buy the beta because i'll have to buy the game all over again in a few days. I've only had e few weeks with the beta...with a lot of down time due to crashes.

I hope he's wrong...I'm completely disabled, on a very small fixed income and I rely heavily on GalCiv 1, 2 and (hopefully 3) to give me some time away from my pain (figuratively) for a few hours at a time.

Hope I get to go back to playing, soon. The time it has worked, it's been awesome and a 'quantum leap' beyond 2.

You will not have to 'repurchase' the game. When the game goes live you will get it automatically. Did you submit a ticket to Stardock support? If your game was working prior to patch 6.2, it will be fixed soon.

One thing you can do is to go to steam, go to your library and select Gal Civ 3. Go to properties and 'verify' cache' and have it run that to repair any damaged files that may have happened during the last patch. Also you should always start a new game with each patch as usually the cause of crashes is incompatibility. Just trying to help!
