[1.5] Strategic Spells Cost Double

For some reason when I cast a city enchantment or any other strategic spell it costs double the amount that it should. For example, Propaganda should cost 20 mana according to the spellbook but when cast it reduces my mana by 40. If I'm not careful when I cast a spell it will take my mana negative and the next turn all my enchantments will be gone.

This problem is very repeatable. It will happen on the first turn of a new game. I don't have any mods and it happens with a custom sov or the stock sovs. I validated the files and it found two problems so I just uninstalled the game and redownloaded it. Unfortunately it is still happening. What could be the problem?

My first thought is that you are running a mod or have accidently made a copy of your CoreSpells.xml. Perhaps you have a copy in your mods dir aswell as the game path? If so, many effects will be doubled...

Thanks for your advice. I knew the problem was just me, not everyone, hence the reason I didn't put a [Bug] tag in the thread name.

The problem is resolved but I didn't have any mods installed. I believe the glitch happened after I purchased the The Dead World DLC during the recent sale. I had verified the game but it kept saying 1 file corrupt so I uninstalled and reinstalled with no change. That is when I made my original post.

Just now I uninstalled and manually deleted everything left related to Elemental, FE and FE:LH in the My Games folder and in the C:\Program Files (x86)\ game directory. I then reinstalled and now everything is working properly. Hurray!

Just a quick support suggestion, I know what I am doing but it might be useful to have a removal tool available for download for non-tech savvy folks that nukes everything left over after an uninstall. That would also have solved my problem.
