I just received and answered a survey fron Stardock (
Unfortunately, answers will be biaised and unreliable as some questions are not associated with an answer that fits all cases. You force to do a choice that is wrong.
question 7. Where do you learn about new products, games, etc?
I answered "my nephews" in the little box under " Others". (I trust my young nephews for keeping up with the news!)
The system rejected my answer as it considered my answer as empty: I had to click on a choice above (forum, you tube, etc...) as the coding underneath this survey did not take into account that the "other" field was filled in, hence no need for ticking in another choice. I selected then "forum" for being allowed to proceed... but it is wrong.
question 12. What other platform would you like to see Stardock invest in?
(then a list of tablets, phones, and other tech toys...)
None of the choice proposed is something I would like to see. I was forced to say "playstation, Android, e-something, etc". But I do not want any of what was proposed, and by far!!!
I could not proceed without ticking a box with a totally wrong choice as I just hate all what was proposed.
why not a box with "none of the above" ?? You do not offer escape ways (and not only in this question, but I was simply lucky that I could choose among some choices in other questions...)
Finally, you should have at the end of your surveys the usual free comments allowing a user to give you a more open feedback.
This kind of survey just pushes people to answer in a way that will make some marketing guys happy, but not necessarily the customer...
p.s.: sorry for my pidgin English...
