Trial error

Hi,

 

I just found out about this software and was trying to test it, but after I download and install it says this trial has expired and I need to download the updated version from the download section. Than it's just a loop.

 

Any thoughts?

While nobody is forcing you to buy anything, if your desire for DeskScapes is that great, why would you want to settle for just the trial version?

It's a great product and instead of waiting for a new trial version, you could be enjoying the software.

ok,wizard1956,its cool man,i live in south africa and i dont have a bank account,if by any chance u could give me your bank account details so that i can deposit the amount for deskscapes latest version,and how much is it in the rand currency,not well educated about currencies.thank you.waiting for your reply  Wizard1956.is 1956 ur date year of birth.lol

Firstly - You may not be aware of what exactly "trial" programs are. Trial programs, also known as shareware, are programs that are free to "try" and if you like the programs and wish to continue using them then you are expected to purchase them. "Trial" programs are not "free to use forever". Most "trial" programs have a time-limited feature that makes the programs stop working after 30 days. Also, many "trial" programs by other companies are not supported or even updated.

Secondly - As has been previously mentioned by Stardock, they were in the process of updating the "trial" version of DeskScapes" and were arranging to have it sent to CNET. As far as I know a new updated version of the "trial" was sent this past Friday. It can take several days for CNET to update their servers with the new "trial" version and this being a long weekend now it could extend the time before this updated "trial" appears. Stardock have no control on getting CNET to update their servers.

Nobody is forcing you to purchase anything. Patience is better than repeated demands for an update particularly when this is for a "trial" program.

Walk into any bank. Purchase a money order for the purchase price of DeskScapes in U.S.Dollars.

Use THIS link to get the order by mail form. Print it out, fill it out, enclose the MO and mail it. Wait.

Don't forget the stamps.

The South Africa part was what confused me. I usually see €23.5 million in oil revenues from a Nigerian Prince.... or banker.

Deskscapes seems to have updated to v3.5 in Nov. 2011... - New!

Hi, akpat. I've been researching the issue a little bit, and it seems like Stardock updated Deskscapes to 3.50 back in November 2011, which is why the "Date Added" still reads 2011.

The recent submission from Stardock seems to have updated the installer, but it was not an official version release, which is why the Release Date is still Nov. 16, 2011.

I will contact Stardock to see if that is what they intended, or if indeed their latest submission was a version update (from 3.5 to 3.50 perhaps?).

Anyway, it's been version 3.5 since November 2011. Where are you seeing 3.25? Is it possible to send a screenshot (perhaps using imgur.com)?

Thanks for any additional info, and as I said, I will follow up with Stardock.
