I am a bit confused. I created a custom race with Heroic, so I can get henchmen. My understanding was that Henchmen could gain levels/traits like Champions, but that if henchmen were killed in battle they were truly killed/went away. Several of my henchmen were killed, but instead of going away they simply got injuries ala Champions and continued to live. I couldn't seem to find the comment in the forums I (thought?) I saw about the fact that henchmen could die....can they or not?
They really ought to die for reals when killed.
Otherwise, they kinda water down the value of champions, and therefore Altar's free champions ability.
Of course, if they die for real, they should probably be just a bit cheaper in terms of influence.
They don't die right now... although Derek said somewhere that they should. To be honest, I don't really think they should, because if they die permanently, you'll never see the Altar AI using henchmens because they'll die way too easily if you don't baby them, and the AI doesn't know any method to do so.
Moar death, moar destvuction!
gonna go take the henchmen for a ride to see what I feel btw.
Sincerely~ Kongdej
I agree that they become too much a Champion clone if they can't die - they should be something different. So I think they should die/go away forerver, and potentially be cheaper (and/or start with more HP so they are not so fragile to begin with).
Yep, I like my henchmen cheaper and death-prone. I don't want them getting ideas. Maybe they don't have to die the first time, maybe only after X number of injuries?
I was going to make a post requesting they die also. I would be fine if they got 1 free redo though, but if they didn't that would still be an improvement.
