I have been playing several games in .913. Here is some feedback from these games.
I always play on a large map, with 8 computer opponents. I played with Altar, and I played with a custom Sov based on Kraxis, where the Sov can use the 'tame' ability.
* One general comment is that for me the AI is too weak, especially later in the game. At some point in the game my Sov always becomes of a certain strength, where I can kill every unit of opponents without them doing any serious damage to the sov. I normally do this with a strong weapon and some enchantments.
* When the opponent surrenders, I can have a look at their equipment. I noticed that the AI makes strange choices in especially the armour to use. For example, the opponent was wearing a leather armour, but also had a chainmail he wasn't using. He also didn't wear some items, such as a helmet and boots.
* One reason why I believe the AI has the disadvantage is because 'auto-resolve' gives very bad results compared to when I play a fight myself. Myself I can choose which units to use in a battle. For example, I might send only my sov to the front, while keeping some other units behind. In this way I can prevent the other units from being damaged when they aren't really needed, and at the same time these units gain experience.
* Another reason why the AI has a disadvantage is because I put my best units with my sov, while the AI has their best unit spread all over.
* Also, often the AI seems to make attacks where it could know it would loose. Why not let the AI first calculate the outcome of a battle, before actually deciding to make the attack? The same counts for AI monsters.
