I have found the following strange things as relates to using magic:
- When spiders cast "web" it seems to have no effect...the targeted unit says "webbed" but the unit can still move and attack etc.
- When I cast "shrink" on monsters and enemies' champions it seems to work as advertised. When I cast it on enemies' "normal" units, however, it takes the attack points to zero, and also visably shrinks just one of people in the unit, with the rest remining normal size. (I did this against both an enemy 3-person archer unit with an attack of 30, as well as against a 3-person city militia with an attack of 28, with the same outcome). Also, I notice growth only works on my own champions, but not my "normal" units...perhaps "shrink" is suppossed to only work against champions and monsters, as well?
- I was casting "fireball", and during the one move while I was creating the cast the casting unit got knocked prone by the enemy...when the casting unit's turn came I could not cast fireball (I assume since I was still prone), but it also would not let me skip the turn - e.e. the combat got stuck at that point and there was no way to continue the battle. I autoresolved and it worked (only I got crushed!)
- mentioned many times, so one more voice...there "needs" to be a way to auto resolve without using magic, as it is a mana-burner and forces you to tediously manually play out silly battles you know you will win in order to save mana.
- I have also seen the oppossing player (AI) cast spells in tactial combat (such as beserk, curse, etc.) and I have not known what the effect of these spells against me were. I think it would be useful for some tooltip to appear describing the effect anytime the AI casts a spell...tooltip either at time of cast or, even better, a tooltip when you move your mouse over the effected unit so long as the spell is in effect.
