I have some mid-game saves that load just fine, but after a certain point in the game, I can't load any saves, not even an older (younger?) one.  In .76, i was able to save and reload at a point where the turn button/end turn no longer worked.  At one point, the time before any movement happened was long, not just the auto-resolution results.  I could go to task mgr and then back into the game again and the game would eventually pick up again, then the pace would go back to normal.

And, I find that when the game stops responding, the whole screen fades, I can still see things in the background, but it's like a massive fog of war over the whole screen.
