Just played a game of 0.77, here are my thoughts
- I had a couple of bugs, but no crashes or even slowdown. I've reported the bugs separately in the support forum.
- The AI still seems rather passive. Nobody made much attempt to oppose me (on Challenging), even though they were (according to the power charts anyway) ahead of me. In reality, they weren't really ahead of me, so maybe they were being smarter than they looked! Once I declared war, I didn't really make any effort to defend my cities, but none of them got taken (apart from one that was killed by monsters). On the positive side, I didn't see any AI deaths from monsters this time.
- The AI doesn't seem to have got the memo about not city spamming. If there was a gap big enough to fit a city, they put one there. Even if it was right in the centre of my empire. Then I'd declare war, raze it, and a couple of turns later a different AI would fill in the gap. I think the AI needs to pay more attention to keeping its territory together.
- I think that caravans should not trigger the 'enemy unit in your territory warning'. They're harmless and distract attention from real threats.
- Balance wise, champions were a lot closer to built units. I made good use of the built units this time (although this was partially because I didn't get many champion spawns.
- Upgrade costs are ridiculously high. I levelled up my armour by one tech, and it would have cost my entire treasury (4k or so) just to upgrade one squad.
- Maul is still OP
- My score was silly low (double figures) at the end. I don't know what you need to move up from 'Janusk' rating, but I feel I deserved it after basically dominating everything.
Overall, was a good game. I don't have that much to moan about. As soon as the AI starts being competent, this'll start being a really solid game.
