I’ve been playing Elemental: Fallen Enchantress since the 26th, and I really like the game, but there is still something missing. It feels to me like a much improved version of WoM, and it’s not because of the crashes and bugs, it’s just missing that last ingredient that really keeps me captivated for a longer period of time.
I really like the start of the game because it’s fun, exciting and it challenges me. But after some time it’s just reduced to waiting and managing, without much fun. The worst part is, I can’t really put my finger on one thing that it is that’s missing, but I’ve found some things, that if fixed would improve the game in my opinion. 
UI- It would be great if there could be some fixes to the UI, ex. Ehen picking up items, a text box shows up with the item name, picture and flavor text, but not the items “stats” in the game, when hovering the mouse over the picture, the name shows up again. It would be nice if it also could show the “stats” here, so you didn’t have to open up the equipment window to see it.
Another thing that would be nice is if the spellbook could show both strategic and tactical spells, with the latter grayed-out, so you couldn’t cast it but still reads its effects. As it is now, you don’t have a complete overlook of your spells, except when looking in a characters details, and then reading what each one does in the hiergamenon. Also it would be nice if damage spells could show you the actual damage, after shards, evoker etc. they would do in brackets.
Gameplay- I’ve played a couple of games to turn 300 or 400 on normal speed and in my opinion research is too slow. I’m mostly dominating the game at this point, but I don’t think I’m more than halfway through any of the research trees. This might be the point, but I do think it’s too slow.
Balance- I’m sorry to say this, but later in the game I find no reason to use standard units without traits, because my cities have so much production that even when giving a unit 3 of the most expensive traits, really doesn’t change production time. Maybe traits should only be for those special units you have designed?
Bugs- There is some skills and spells that don’t work as intended. Immune to criticals doesn’t work, Sunder heals elements instead of damaging, Gamblers Strike doesn’t work, creatures immune to magic still takes damage from magic (not sure if this is a bug).
Then I saw a really cool thing in a game, computer players training units I had designed in earlier games. The only problem was that it was empire units for a kingdom player and Vice versa. But a really cool effect if fixed.
When giving a defend order to mounted units, it takes a really long time to execute it compared to units on foot.
Then there are some sovereigns that don’t have classes, like Resoln, Tarth, but this might be intended?
