It's pretty interesting tournament and is very well detailed in here. Of course I don't know if JeeSports uses same rankings (I read about accelerated swiss, etc. also, which is a bit different). It doesn't help that much if we have something like 5 teams though... Then on various rounds we would have one team, which would get instant win (plays against team "Bye" which always loses). However we have no elimination, so we can get more matches.
For example we have 5 teams. Adding a team Bye to make even number of teams. (I hope I understood how this works correctly, so sorry for any mistakes). Strength of teams is like this: A - strongest, E - weakest (except Bye).
Number Name Points
1. Team A. 0
2. Team B. 0
3. Team C. 0
4. Team D. 0
5. Team E. 0
6. Team Bye. 0
1st Round.
Team A vs Team D. (winner A)
Team B vs Team E. (winner B )
Team C vs Team Bye (instant winner C)
After 1st Round.
Number Name Points
1. Team A. 1
2. Team B. 1
3. Team C. 1
4. Team D. 0
5. Team E. 0
6. Team Bye. 0
2nd Round.
Team A vs Team C. (winner A)
Team B vs Team D. (winner B )
Team E vs Team Bye (instant winner E)
After 2nd Round
Number Name Points
1. Team A. 2
2. Team B. 2
3. Team C. 1
4. Team D. 0
5. Team E. 1
6. Team Bye. 0
3rd Round.
Team A vs Team B. (winner A)
Team C vs Team E. (winner C)
Team D vs Team Bye (instant winner D)
After 3rd Round.
Number Name Points
1. Team A. 3
2. Team B. 2
3. Team C. 2
4. Team D. 1
5. Team E. 1
6. Team Bye. 0
Overall rankings
Number Name Points Opp. Wins Rank
1. Team A. 3 - 1
2. Team B. 2 5 2
3. Team C. 2 4 4
4. Team D. 1 5 3
5. Team E. 1 4 5
6. Team Bye. 0 - 6
So as you see, we have three matches, where one of the teams doesn't play (instant wins). However winning against Team Bye isn't very good, because if you end up in a tie, your opponent Bye didn't get any wins, so you could get less wins from opponents... Also it would be good to sort out teams by strength from start (If that is even possible). Well anyway, we could try this if anyone is interested (I am).
Oh, and I hate those forums. Can't columns of numbers be straight instead of strange curves?
