This may not be the best place to post this since it seems to be an issue more pertinent to Impulse than Elemental: War of Magic specifically, but seeing the prevalence of the Impulse overlay in many of the menus in the game, I figure it can't be a bad place to start. This problem isn't unique to the 1.9e beta, on 1.1 I tried logging into multiplayer and first experienced this problem stopping me from getting to something in the game. I never tried multiplayer before v1.1. As I said before, I've actually seen this problem with the little Impulse popups in Demigod when you start the game, but that was nothing serious.
Specifically, the menus are scrambled (not unlike a bad TV signal on an analog television set) when I try to look at the achievements, the multiplayer menu, or my mod library. Single player menus are fine as far as I've seen: it only seems to be a problem with parts of the game that require the internet. The impulse client itself works loads and displays just fine... it also seems to be a problem specifically with the overlay. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this?
I checked to see if I had a debug.err and I didn't, however I'm running:
Windows 7 Professional
Intel Core Duo T2350 @ 1.86GHz
2 Gb DDR2-SDRAM
ATI Mobility Radeon x1400 256 Mb (128 Dedicated, 128 Integrated)
Lastly, here are some screenshots:
