I've mentioned this to Jesse but the one thing I find difficult is farming
. There are few fertile lands to develop food, even when you do find some farm land, when you build multiple cities, you find that the farm land dries up quick...even after you irrigate, build farming guilds, and improve farming. I ran out of food just building 5 cities, with 2 fertile lands, and with a handful of huts, but the computers have no problem creating huge cities with limited resources, even when I take over an AI city, I am stuck with a city with 10 huts and negitive food. I have a couple of ideas to help this without too much work.
Have Harbors produce food...could be as little as +2 food, but it makes sense that you fish from harbors.
Heck, you could even make a new building called "Fish Market" that adds a 50% increase to harbor food...so a +1 food, but Harbor must be built.
Have Irrigation create either fertile land or food. Irrigation is used in places that are not rich in water, so it makes sense that it creates fertile land. If it does create food, make it limited to +1 or +2 food, rather than a 25% increase...And I wouldn't limit to just one, let them build multiple.
Also I heard that at one time, earth+water users could create fertile land. This would help too, but it would cost like +8 or +10 mana or something.
Now, if there is more food, you can make more buildings, even have an upgraded version of the hut, call it house, and have it cost +2 food, but creates +70 population.
I know that this game is still improving, that is why I like it! I hope you continue to make this game great and keep at it!
