Yes... the people that started the 1 Billion other threads about the "Out of Memory" error also feel that way. And I agree (though I don't have it often). Having said that.. could you (and everyone else) please please please use the damn "search" tool or spend 2 min looking around the forum and add to the already existing threads about this instead of cluttering the forum with so many damn repeat threads just because you're lazy and want things to be about you.
LoL true, and well said, and normally I'd agree %100 on this...
However:
One of the Devs did state a while ago they were counting "Individual Posts" on here and on other forums to gauge what kinds of things, be they bug fixes or new ideas, that the Elemental Community wants the most. The more OOM posts they count, the higher priority they will put on fixing the OOM errors (which kill large map game-play). I'm still trudging through my epic sized game on "The Real Feage" map that runs into a OOM error every 20-30 turns. I save every 10 turns because I know I'll hit the OOM and have to restart the game and I don't like loosing turns I've already done.
I'm the type of player that I like HUGE EPIC MAPS. Even the "Large" maps are too small for my tastes. In todays age of video game engines that can handle thousands of units on screen at once with Multi Core Computers that have the processing power of a Hundred Computers from 10 years ago, having a stable game engine that can actually complete a whole game without crashing shouldn't be a problem.
I'm starting to get really fed up with not being able to play the game the way it was intended without hitting crashes on my super gaming rig that's got a couple thousand dollars worth of hard-ware in it. Still, I refuse to give up, so I keep on keeping on. Hopefully this will be squashed really soon.
