I generally like tactical battles but there are a few things I'd like to see corrected:
1) HP is deducted in advance of actual attacks, and the same goes for squad members who disappear in advance of the attack. I don't mind a unit taking a wide sweeping strike with their sword, meaning they are about to kill a foe, but I don't want to know how much damage was done until AFTER the attack.
2) Can't we highlight attacking units? It's often difficult to know what an enemy unit is doing but if they were always highlighted it would be easy to follow them.
3) Since it's hard to see units on brush tiles maybe those should be impassable areas unless they are easy to see into (light brush passable, heavy brush impassable)?
4) I like the freedom given during battles. I like, for example, being able to use part of unit's movement points, switch to another, then switch back, but I don't like being able to give orders to my units during the enemy's turn. Something should prevent that.
