Just had this happen twice in my last game. Saw a mob moving to kill my poor little Caravan, set orders to attack said scoundrels, hit end of turn, Get battle with mob, play tactical battle. then get the caraavan getting attacked message, by the group i just killed... Needless to say that the undead - mob killed my caravan.
