Three items I would like to comment on from my current game:
1. The creatures researched in diplomacy tree:
The game would be better if the three tiers provided a random available unit from a pool. At the least, each unit in the pool would represent an aspect of tactical combat (ex: strong essence, strong defense, ranged damage, strong melee attack, etc.). Hopefully the pool is expanded to provide a mixture of units that are 'great at one thing, 'good at a couple things', and perhaps 'above average at three things).
You could additionally use the stats and/or tech paths reasearched to 'guide' the random selection, although I personally would prefer absolute randomness.
You could also do the above by spell books if that appeals to you.
2. Killing Sovereign kills empire:
Killing a Sovereign outside his area of influence should not end a kingdom. It should instead incur an increased essence cost. I don't remember the cost for dying in your area of influence, but the cost for dying outside should be 6 or 7. Five is too low as it only requires a very minor investment in wisdom to bring your essence to 11 and give the player 3 deaths outside area of influence.
3. "We want treaties from you"
I keep getting spammed by sovereigns who want to set up a treaty with me. Problem is that the perceived values of their non-aggression pacts is more then mine by hundreds. I even have the diplomat skill and have been mashing the diplomacy skill tree. I'm not sure why they have such huge perceived value (maybe armies and resources <shrug>) but I don't want to keep getting spammed by them when its not even possible for me to meet their perceived value.
Solutions:
- stop the spam
- let them adjust their perceived value so that I will enter a treaty with them. *they* are the ones who want it after all
