These might be some features that are planned for the full version game but they are currently not in the beta.
Posting just in case there are some new ideas in here for the devs. If you have any more game play settings feel free to post! I always like more settings to customize my gaming experience. Lets be honest and admit that we all play games differently.
I do realize that the normal game has to be balanced and good before game play settings are implemented. So I do not expect to see any of these in beta releases.
Game play settings:
-Option to disable/enable certain research trees
-Option to set max city level
-Option to reveal map (fog of war still in effect)
-Option for no fog
-Option for how many resources are on the map (few, normal, many)
-Option for AI strategy with their difficulty level
-Option for amount of starting resources
-Quick start options. (Start with an army? Start with a pioneer? Start with a higher level city? Start with some resource buildings? Start hero with items?)
-Option to disable/enable item shop
-Option to disable/enable monsters/bandits attacking cities (I think this falls under world difficulty... But why? Maybe you want easy monsters attacking or super hard monsters attacking. Just like sins you can enable/disable pirates... Maybe add a bounty system like in sins. Then make a custom group of monsters called the bandits that appear on ships, land and raid cities for plunder.

-Option for amount of monsters in the world (Again, this falls under world difficulty. But why not just make all the settings that difficulty changes and make them sub options of difficulty? Then people can make their own custom difficulty levels in game.)
-Option for disasters or random events? (Maybe include good events and bad events?)
-Option to disable/enable neutral cities. (I define neutral cities as the cities that are not apart of the major factions)
-Option for the amount of neutral cities.
