Space Rangers 2/Reboot clarification

Whats included in the content

I have seen SR2 Reboot advertised as a stand alone enhancement to SR2 (not needing SR2 to get all of the content of both games) see link:

I have also seen Reboot sold along with SR1 as a packagae deal wo SR2 included. Leads me to believe I am getting full SR2 content with enhancements especialy when looking at the above link.

My question is: Do you need to have SR2 AND Reboot to obtain all of the content....AND are there several different versions of Reboot available digitaly? Some with the complete content and others requiring a seperate reboot expansion to obtain the benefits?

The Impulse version of Space Rangers reboot requires the original Space rangers 2. Other versions are generally standalone, unless they specifically mention that the original is required. Either way, if the version of Reboot you buy works standalone, there is no reason whatsoever to buy the original space rangers 2.

It should have just been made Gold Version with SR1 and SR2 reboot, and a free upgrade for owners of the original Space Rangers 2. That would have led to a lot less confusion and been fairer to gamers who supported the developer by buying the original game, thereby supplying them with cashflow while they produced the reboot version.

For what reboot offers, it is not worth even the $11 Impulse sells it for as a patch to add to your original Space rangers 2!

Ehh. I have both SR1 and SR2. And from what I've been reading, I'm fine with paying 20 bucks to get the Reboot version. Sounds like a lot of great additions/alterations and I want to support the company that made such a great game (then made it better).

I bought Space Rangers 2: Complete on Impulse. Is it possible to play the original Space Rangers 2, without Reboot's added content, and then when I'm done with that play Reboot later?
